The first stop, the first motel – of many more to come … – now on to California.

Nach einem letzten Spaziergang am Alki Beach mit seiner lokalen Version der Miss Liberty war es Zeit aufzubrechen – nächster Halt: irgendwo in Oregon.

After a last stroll around Alki Beach greeting a local version of Miss Liberty it was time to say: „Goodbye Seattle, hello road“ – next stop: somewhere in Oregon.

Yesterday, we passed by our favorite record store – Easy Street Records in West Seattle.

Just in time to hear Star Anna and The Laughing Dogs releasing their new album „Alone In This Together“.

Wir sind angekommen, das wonderland Abenteuer hat begonnen. Wir werden jetzt für rund eine Woche in Seattle bleiben – wo wir von Frühjahr 2000 bis Herbst 2001 gelebt haben – und dann zu unserer Reise aufbrechen. Zur Einstimmung ein Gruß einer Nachbarin, die offensichtlich noch in 4. Juli-Feierlaune war.

We arrived – the wonderland adventure is on its way. We will now stay in Seattle, where we used to live from early 2000 until fall 2001, for about a week before we start our road trip. Enjoy the greetings from a neighbor who was obviously still in 4th of July celebratory mood.

In die Vorbereitung der Reise hinein noch ein kleiner Rückblick: im Mai 2011 war ich eingeladen, mit einer Auswahl der wunderland Bilder an einer Gruppenausstellung in Tbilisi, Georgien, teilzunehmen. Auf meiner Webseite www.andreasok.com findet Ihr im portfolio ein paar Eindrücke von den wundervollen Menschen und von der Umgebung. Und vielleicht ist das ja der Beginn eines neuen Projektes … – aber eins nach dem anderen.

While getting ready to leave I wanted to invite you to a brief look back: in May 2011 I was invited to participate in a group exhibition in Tbilisi, Georgia, to show a selection of the wunderland images. Großartige Neuigkeiten: ein Bild aus wunderland, dem ersten Teil unseres Projektes, ist für die 16th Annual Photo Competition Exhibition des Photo Center Northwest (PCNW) in Seattle ausgewählt worden. Die Gruppenausstellung wurde kuratiert von Karen Irvine, Kuratorin des Museum of Contemporary Photography am Columbia College in Chicago und wird vom 05.08.2011 bis 12.10.2011 im PCNW zu sehen sein.

Great news: one image of wunderland, the first part of the project, was chosen for the 16th Annual Photo Competition Exhibition of the Photo Center Northwest (PCNW) in Seattle. The group exhibition was curated by Karen Irvine, Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Columbia College Chicago, and will be open from 08/05/2011 until 10/12/2011 at the PCNW in Seattle.
